The Silotoren is a striking landmark on the grounds of De Meelfabriek, located on the Zijlsingel and next to Ankerpark. Once, a tower with concrete grain silos stood here, featuring a mural inspired by the poem ‘There Are the Two Squares’ by El Lissitzky. The current design follows the footprint of the original building. The columns of the structure give the facade a rhythmic appearance. The use of concrete references its industrial character. In this way, the design connects history and present, both in form and material usage.
